In accordance with this Individual State Earthquake Assistance (ISEA) NOFO, funds available to eligible states and territories classified as having a high or very high risk of earthquakes. Participation in this funding opportunity is limited to states and territories that can provide a statutory non-federal cost share of 25%. However, the cost share requirement does not apply to territories classified as "Insular Areas," such as the U.S. Virgin Islands, which are still eligible to participate in the program. All activities funded by the ISEA grant program must be consistent with the NEHRP vision, mission, and strategic goals.

This is a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program. This program will support state, local, Tribal, and territorial prosecuting agencies to assign or hire qualified prosecutors to serve full-time or part-time (on a case-by-case basis) as Special Attorneys under the direction of the National Fraud Enforcement Division or the Criminal Division, or to serve as Special Assistant United States Attorneys (SAUSAs) within a United States Attorney’s Office. This grant program, authorized under Public Law 119-21, Title X, Subtitle A, Part II, Section 100055 (codified at 34 U.S.C. § 61101), is intended to strengthen investigative and prosecutorial capacity, expand intergovernmental coordination, and enhance the ability of jurisdictions to investigate and prosecute fraud and other crimes committed by aliens within the United States, as well as investigate and prosecute drug and human trafficking crimes. The CDC announces the availability of FY 2027 funds for a cooperative agreement to continue enhanced national surveillance for human prion diseases, also known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs), in the United States. The purpose is to continue an active surveillance program to help confirm suspected and clinically diagnosed cases of human prion disease and to monitor the occurrence of potentially emerging human prion diseases in the United States. Outcomes are enhanced national surveillance for always fatal human prion diseases through improved diagnoses and continued monitoring for emerging or new prion diseases in the United States. These outcomes are accomplished through the funding of a specialized center to conduct state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques. Prion diseases can only be confirmed through brain tissue analyses, and many facilities lack the expertise and/or the willingness, due to infection control concerns, to handle and accurately diagnose specimens from suspected cases. Since 1997, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has funded a center to provide prion disease diagnostic services, which has allowed for disease confirmation, evaluation of disease trends over time, and identification of disease subtypes. Data have been shared with CDC experts who partner with center staff, providing guidance and epidemiological knowledge. This collaboration has contributed to accurate national surveillance findings and helped to provide confidence that novel prion diseases, such as a human form of the animal prion disease, chronic wasting disease, have not been occurring in the country.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is soliciting investigator-initiated gold standard research proposals to rigorously evaluate programs and policies for their impact on primary prevention of child sexual abuse (CSA) or problematic sexual behavior (PSB) among youth. For the purposes of this NOFO: CSA is defined as sexual victimization during childhood (younger than 18 years of age) perpetrated by an adult. PSB is defined as sexual behaviors among children (younger than 18 years of age) that are not developmentally appropriate and have the potential to cause harm to the child or children involved (including behaviors that are unintentionally harmful or inappropriate as well as behaviors intended to cause harm). Research funded under this announcement will strengthen the evidence base for primary prevention of CSA and PSB. Applicants must propose to rigorously evaluate a program or policy for primary prevention of CSA or PSB that addresses one of the following three research priorities: Programs or policies focused on primary prevention of CSA or PSB in digital spaces (e.g., downloading or possession of illegal images of children, nonconsensual image sharing, use of artificial intelligence to create fake explicit images of children); Programs or policies addressing the use of digital spaces for commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) or sex trafficking (e.g., online recruitment of minors for sexual content creation, online advertisements soliciting minors for commercial sex acts, using technology to facilitate in-person meetings with minors for the purpose of sex); Organizational policy approaches focused on primary prevention of CSA or PSB in youth-serving organizations (e.g., community centers, youth development organizations, juvenile residential care facilities, faith-based organizations, group foster care).
